F8 vs Huracán EVO

· Auto Team
Comparing the Ferrari F8 Tributo and the Lamborghini Huracán EVO is one of those automotive debates that never fully resolves — because both sides have a point.
On paper, the Ferrari is the more powerful, faster, and more aerodynamically efficient machine.
In practice, plenty of people who've owned both would take the Lamborghini every single time. The reason why tells you everything about what these cars actually are.
What's Under the Hood
The F8 Tributo runs a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 710 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. It weighs just under 3,200 pounds, which, for a car making this much power, is impressively lean.
The aerodynamic package — including an S-duct borrowed from the 488 Pista, a revised front splitter, and rear downforce elements — was designed with track performance as the primary concern. Ferrari's Side Slip Control system and the E-Diff3 electronic differential work in the background to keep the rear-wheel-drive setup manageable, even at the limit.
The Huracán EVO uses a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 making 631 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, with its own 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. It's heavier, makes less power, and by most objective measures loses the straight-line comparison.
However, the all-wheel-drive system gives it traction off the line that the F8 can't match — hence the Huracán EVO's 0–60 time of 2.5 seconds against the Ferrari's 2.9 seconds. The F8 compensates with a meaningfully higher top speed: 211 mph against the Huracán's 202 mph.
How They Drive
The F8 is described by its owners as an exceptional handler — brilliant steering feedback, a highly responsive front end, precise and confidence-inspiring cornering. Ferrari's magnetic ride dampers and carbon-ceramic brakes borrowed directly from Formula 1 development create a car that communicates what the tires are doing in exceptional detail.
One longtime F8 owner put it plainly on a Lamborghini forum: "It's the better car." The caveat he added was just as revealing: "but you can't actually have fun in it without going to high speeds."
The Huracán's appeal is more visceral, less clinical. The naturally aspirated V10 delivers power in a linear, building wave that the turbocharged V8 simply can't replicate — full power arrives as the revs climb, not in a sudden rush. The exhaust note is, by near-universal consensus among people who've owned both, in a different league.
One owner summed it up: "With my Performante, I can have a blast without really breaking the speed limit and have fun shifting to get the noise."
Aerodynamics and Design
Both cars take aerodynamics seriously, but approach it differently. Ferrari's F8 prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency — the drag coefficient of approximately 0.324 Cd is significantly better than the Huracán EVO's 0.39 Cd. That difference partially explains why the F8 reaches a higher top speed despite having rear-wheel drive versus the Huracán's more grippy AWD setup.
The F8's S-duct channels air from the front underbody through the hood to generate downforce without adding drag. The Huracán EVO's integrated ducktail spoiler and sharp-angled bodywork prioritize presence and visual impact as much as function.
Which One Actually Wins?
If the question is strictly about performance numbers and track times, the F8 Tributo has the edge — more power, better aerodynamics, higher top speed, and superior handling precision.
If the question is about which car delivers a more emotionally satisfying experience on public roads, the Huracán EVO's naturally aspirated V10, all-wheel-drive confidence, and attention-commanding presence make it a compelling answer. As one owner put it, capturing the debate perfectly: "The F8 is the better car, but the Huracán is the better experience."
So which one should you buy? That depends entirely on how you drive. If track days, lap times, and having the objectively superior machine matter most, the Ferrari F8 Tributo is the logical choice.
If your driving happens on public roads where the speed limit is a constant companion, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO delivers joy at legal speeds through sound, theater, and all-weather confidence. Neither answer is wrong. The debate continues — and that’s exactly why both cars are brilliant.
