Lykkers, remember when everyone was obsessed with liquid highlighters? Well, powder formulas are quietly making their comeback, and honestly, I'm not mad about it.
While cream and liquid highlighters are still my usual choice, there are days when I want that classic powder glow sitting on my vanity. Out of the highlighters I've collected, these are the two that stand out the most.

1. Jaclyn Cosmetics Highlighter

Not every product has to be life-changing to earn a spot in a collection, and that's exactly how I feel about this one. The formula is nice. It gives a pretty sheen and blends well enough, but every time I use it, I find myself reaching for something else the next day. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe I wanted a little more impact for the price. That doesn't mean it's bad—far from it. The finish is flattering, and I can see why others enjoy it. It just never became one of those products I get excited about using.

2. Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter

The moment I swatched this, I understood why so many people were talking about it. The glow is smooth, refined, and catches the light beautifully without looking overly glittery. Instead of sitting on top of the skin, it almost melts into it, creating that lit-from-within effect that everyone tries to achieve. I know plenty of people who actually prefer this over Rare Beauty's liquid highlighter. For me, the liquid version is still the winner, but this powder formula came surprisingly close.
Looking at these side by side, Rare Beauty is the clear standout in my collection. It's the highlighter I recommend, the one I pack when traveling, and the one that gets the most compliments. Jaclyn Cosmetics still deserves credit for delivering a beautiful glow, but it hasn't quite earned permanent-favorite status on my makeup shelf. Maybe powder highlighters really are making a comeback after all. At the very least, they've convinced me to reach beyond my usual liquid formulas more often.
